Leftovers?

Picking on dropped berries is to be expected.

But this was different. Dove found a hunk of bread and stayed put. No sharing. No concern that I was close by. This was quietly becoming a stuffed dove. Nice leftover.

Off to the other side of the Hudson. Lots to see from moving car, raptors mostly, also one dead deer, alas.  Crow was walking around edge of reservoir now at low level.

Not soaring.  Flying away from crow mob.

On the way home, cloud shaft.

Tiny window for viewing wren through leaves, breakfast seeds.

Seeds in here too when they fall.

Behavior watching

Piggy Blue jay. Usually it's snatch-and-leave. Not this blue jay. This was snatch, stay and wait for next handout.

Water and seeds in the rock split. I delivered a nut and had an appreciative poser.

Observations

The hermit thrush, lots of them in town.

Brown creeper frozen on side of tree, squirrels calling alert. Hawk?

Nuthatch catching lunch then also freezing.

Several hundred grackles flew into tree, sat then departed. Why?
