Hot and humid

Steamy hot downstairs.  Papa cardinal watching child who's calling for food.  Too humid to be out with camera. Too humid to be out, period.
 

Young male

See yellow beak, young male house sparrow, but there's no such thing as "just a sparrow", because all birds are fun to watch. Young bird, aware of surroundings, alert, taking possession of this one spot.  Fun to watch. So pretty.
 

Young robins

        Young robins. Independent now. Know how to find their own food.
 

         Know how to watch for overhead predators.

But are not aware of the danger of cars. When smashed the blow flies take care of the remains. Fact of life.

On the wings of the doves

I never expected to see this. Doves are usually shy. This was the dove club taking it easy, wing ballet. They knew I was watching and could not have cared less. Lovely serene few minutes.
 

Dove afternoon

Taking a break from olympics.  Dove lunch. I was trying to see what got their attention. They're not usually this trusting. Seed bits. And then a bit of water. I miss  seeing dove nests this season. None in our garden.
