Not exactly exotic

Still a few warblers in town. The handsome parula.
The black and white warbler
This really caught my attention. West 71st street. Somebody dropped a rasher of bacon.  It was totally eaten in less than five minutes.
A real masterpiece, marvelous sparrow nest held in place by pigeon spikes on a multi-million dollar town house. I love the creativity of the sparrows.

Suddenly robin was at my feet. Okay, have a cranberry, mmmm good.
The catbird was watching this activity.
Sparrow collecting lunch for nestlings.

Looking through leaves

The male black and white warbler.  Bold colors
The gentle veery
This was a total surprise, a "what's that" bird. Looks like a sparrow, but walks differently and is smaller. A more experienced birder identified this sweet bird, a Lincoln sparrow, first time for me. Pretty and sweet.
Then into the leaves came the male chestnut-sided warbler. Love this bird.  First time I ever saw this bird I thought it was the prettiest "sparrow" I had ever seen. That was nine years ago. Live and learn.
