More hopper

This is almost outer-worldly. Trying different lens combos.
Hopper gone.  Don't know when he departed, but it sure was fun watching.

Hopper visitor

Gawking at me through the window. What? What? Who?  Grab camera and iPad. This is not easy, shooting through glass, small subject. A what?
Oh, a grasshopper. On the 18th floor. That's a hell of a hop.  Maestro Grasshopper.
More tomorrow. This subject is a challenge.  Still on window 6 hours later, 300 pictures later.

Bathing

I'd like to do this too, just stand in the water.
Young starling, confrontation time
Spending lots of time outside with camera is not easy... or healthful.

Robin puberty

No more baby. Robbie is totally independent and sort of skilled at finding food. First there's the search.
Ah, something juicy, a mulberry. Mots of them up in the tree, but dropped berries are less work.
Protein, a caterpillar.
Salad?? Not quite. Robbie has to learn this is not food.

Crow evening

Forgot to post these earlier. Dusk. Baby crow is contented to stay on ground while overhead parents are screaming at it to come fly. Stubborn kid stayed put. Lots of cawing going on. All ignored.
Earlier same day juvenile robin discovered fountain and behaved territorially.
Little tolerance towards mature male robin.
A cyclops taking a bath?
Youngster staying put. My place!
Go away!
This kid meant business. No sharing.  Incredible instinct for such a young bird.
