The kinglet

From Oct. 25th, the least cooperative ruby crown kinglet. You can see the touch of ruby on a few of the images. Tiny bird flitting around. Only thing to do is try and wait. Lots of patience needed.

Finally kinglet is out in the open. Cooperative? Hardly.

No more kinglets now until springtime.

Yummy berries

Female finch gorging.   The berries won't last forever. serious business, good to the last chomp.

The starling are also at it, totally uncooperative, in and out of leaves.

Upside down lunch?

The finches

Berries in the back garden. Nothing bothers the finches when there's food to be had. This is serious business.

Meanwhile there's another finch couple in the front garden grabbing nesting material from the abandoned blue jay nest, materials to be used most likely in their cold weather hideaway.

Serious downy woodpecker. I've seen fewer of them this month. They're here, then gone.

The berries

Berry frenzy. The robins are here from the north, filling up before heading further south. Hundreds of berries, territorial behavior. MY TREE!!!

The starling are here to stay,  same territorial behavior with lots of clicking warnings. Brat birds, but fascinating to watch.

Flare out and warn, MY TREE.
