This nest was robin-built and used, twine wrap, hangings underneath, babies fledged, empty nest. The dove moved in. Opportunistic housing.
The underneath hangings are the give-away, robin design.
Wow, cardinal nest. I'm not sure what's going on. Nest building? Eggs on nest? Little babies? No idea.
Female cardinal putzing around in nest.
Look at that construction. A found stuff nest. Gorgeous. Ingenious. Have to continue watching.

Something fishy
It was a pleasure being greeted by a singing catbird.
Plenty of mud for the next robin's nest at Tanner's Spring.
But the best was at the west side of the lake, carp getting ready to spawn. It's that time of year.
I'll head back tomorrow to hopefully see more fish activity.

Trying
It's always possible to find a nest. Look for the garbage.
Young robin. Not sure what constitutes food. Flowers?
Feathers?
Twigs?
Time to take a nap. Papa is around to fill in the gaps.

They don't know what to do
The newbies really have to figure out what is food and how to find it.
For the first week it's a matter of calling, "FEED ME!"
That works for a while.
No,no, no..... wood chips are not food. It's steep learning curve.

From the 13th
Killer nest, last nestling, home alone and then with parent. These are from the 13th. The nest is now vacant.
Catbirds have arrived. I've heard them singing. I hope they'll nest here. Catbird shot through construction mesh.
Mrs. Finch. I've been hearing them too, but they're hard to see. Heavy foliage.
All images from the 13th.

Glimpses downstairs
Sure sign of nest building, but where?
Up in the scaffolding. Lost cost housing.
The way to find new fledglings is to listen, Cheep cheep = feed me! Good flyer one hour out of nest.
