Time for a sip in the bird bath

Front of the house in the fountain, a younger bluejay. Not skittish.

Mocker out back

It's been a while since I've met a mockingbird in the garden. It may return when the berries are ripe. Very cooperative photo subject, watched me, watched lens. Not fully  mature mocker, soft feathers on back.

More small visitors

A visit by the male common yellow throat warbler is always a joy.

                                    Can't ignore our regulars, the cardinals... used to me now.

From three days ago

Pigeons are not always bland grey. You have to stop and look. Grass is a good place for rest and finding seeds.

Male house sparrow also finding seeds for lunch.

Suddenly the ovenbird walked by. They plod along like old men.

Behind 180 the male black throated blue warbler was getting bugs. Hard to photograph. Fence in the way.

In the back garden below the sunflowers a mature male common yellow throat warbler.

Not  birding when I have work or it's raining.

More visitors in the garden

The redstart showed up at the fountain  flitted around and readily posed.

Around the corner the robin was dining on fermented berries and getting pleasantly pickled.

Tracking a flitterer

If I miss a few days posting it's because I'm doing opera work. Into the back garden to relax. Movement in berry tree. Oh joy, a non-stop black and white warbler. Not easy to photograph. This tiny bird flits around. This is a young female.

Across the way a phoebe is sitting, then flying off to catch bugs. Totally aware that I'm watching.
