Back to the river

Collecting  for the nestlings, maybe fish bits
Collecting seaweed salad for nest or nestling, couldn't tell. I've never seen a salad nest.
On the attack. Food fight. Geese have the right idea. Hard bagels get soaked to soften.
There were a dozen soggy bagels when I came along. When I left there were none.

Yummy in the garden

Lots of fruit on the mulberry tree
But the better berries are on the tree near the fuse box. The technique is to study every berry and then shag the ripest. It happens faster than a soccer goal.
Study and lunge
This was the weirdest starling I've ever seen. Looks like a kiwi.
Deep in the leaves Papa cardinal was munching on berry, then politely went below the branches and continued making berry mush.

The kids

I'm not seeing nests, but the juveniles are exploring. The first fledglings can pick on their own, but the runts need to be fed by Papa.
Around the corner the new starlings are in the usual uproar.
This totally surprised me, adult screaming instead of baby.
