Funny lunch

You can't make a date to watch something like this. The garden. Lunch. Some human dropped a chip/cracker found by parent starling. Adult starlings are not kindly-parental. They stuff food in demanding kid's mouth and run away. This is the first time I've seen a concerned starling parent and that's after decades of watching the feeding behavior.
Obviously chip/cracker is too big. Parent tries to break it apart while kid huddles close by.
Still too big. I'm not sure what was going on. Does parent want to get above kid in order to insert food? Does parent want to insert food in a different opening? Adult certainly doesn't want to eat this lunch. Is this a younger adult? That's possible. Perhaps adult is a sibling.
Try again.
And again
Oh my God, now chip/cracker has a bug on it. Is this starling version of caviar on toast?
Finally lunch went down the hatch and young starling flew to a  branch. I wonder what all that food feels like in the tummy.

Hungry!

I missed this nest during its early days. Now the kids are big. Visible. Insatiable appetite. Hard to get full detail due to leaves, but this is fun to watch. Lots of worms and berries in the garden.
Cleanliness first. Papa retrieves fecal sac for removal.
To be continued.

Crow baby

These are still from the 8th. Got sidetracked with opera images. Gorgeous baby. No inclination to fly. No knowledge of fear. Parents screaming at it from above.
Crow baby wasn't the only subject for attention. Robin nest by the front door. Big baby. I think this kid is fledge-ready.
