Trying to find juveniles

Front garden, one juvenile, totally independent, but not totally proficient yet.
Bath time for parent
Huge kids still in nest, on nest rim
On nest edge more than in nest
Go on, go for it!
Kid #1 out of nest, WALKED out. Now it's a "branchling".
To be continued.

Bigger!

The babies are a gorgeous heap.
Previous generation. Wow, kid got a worm. This is huge progress.
Non, no... don't try eating garbage.
So big, but not yet mature
Meanwhile at the cardinal nest it's hard to sort out what's going on.
Molting Papa

More kids

How do you find the kids?  Follow the food.
Huge nestlings
You have to look around. Fledgling from previous nest.
Not going to get fed. Parent busy with nestlings.
Fledglings from different parents, other side of garden.
Time to learn how to find food.
But this fledgling wants food from adult. Not going to happen.
Survival of the fittest. Time to find own food. Parent knows this.
To be continued.
