I had one hour. Off to Strawberry Field, the patch of jewel weed. And just as I got there I saw the hummingbird zip in. Oh joy,... now try and get pictures. This is not easy. All of a sudden there were two hummers, two females and they faced off. I couldn't get pictures of this. They were dueling by my knees. I could hear the click of their beaks clashing. One lost the duel and headed west while the other stayed hovering at my knees. Then zip, off she went. I know these are not ideal images, but they're better than nothing. I've tried auto-focus. I've tried manual focus. There's no single solution. It's all a matter of luck. Beloved magical, mighty hummingbirds._______________________________
