You've heard of dumb luck??? I bird by sound, heard singing, looked up, saw yellow, took pictures. Pal birder said, "that's a ........". I didn't think. Pretty bird, pretty yellow, pretty song.
Today I got corrected. And I should have known, because I saw this bird last spring near the Conservatory Lake. This is a rare Central Park bird, the yellow throated warbler. These photos taken, Sunday April 18th, between 10:44:31 - 10:45:16 a.m. at the East edge of Falcon Rock. Had I known this was a special bird I would have tried to shoot more and then gotten the word out. No sign of the bird today. Dan was witness to this. And thankfully, my corrector.
