It was quiet in the park yesterday. The first thing that caught my eye was this very different duck. It's been reported on another site that this is a magpie duck from Scotland. That's good. But where did it come from. There are two. They're very pretty and full-bodied.



There's one dense tree on the west side of Maintenance Meadow. Tree laden with berries. Yesterday this was a core of activity. There were other birders watching and they helped with a couple of IDs. First, the veery (which I knew).
