Warm weather, dead log, termites. I saw the termites airborne and robins, sparrows, starlings gorging on the sidewalk. Time to follow the trail. The termites were coming from my favorite huge log now mostly hidden by overgrowth. I'll have to dig out pictures of log-burst from past years, usually in May. If there are birds they will come to feast. Both the palm warbler and the yellow rump were dining. |

Not a nice surprise nearby, most likely raided from a nest, obviously not a fallen egg.
