In the garden

The goal today was to head to the park, but I never got out of our garden... lots to see and lots of behavior to observe. First, right in front of our door, a nuthatch, maybe dazed from flying into a window, but obviously no trauma and in time it flew off.  Lots of bugs to find in tree bark.
Hermit thrush in back garden hanging onto the sunflower stalk
Total surprise, the non-breeding palm warbler
A yellow rump warbler in another section of garden hunting and finding loads of bugs
Lucky sparrow at dying sunflowers from which to pluck seeds.
