For the first time in a while I headed to Central Park. The folliage looks like the rain forest, very dense, hanging low. What I saw most was mud, glorious mud, -sparrows and mud, starlings and mud, robins and mud, pigeons and mud, fathers with their families and mud. But being in Central Park was good for a change. Birding involves tramping around, not standing in one spot and waiting. Good exercise. Two nice subjects- first frog I've seen since 2005 and a flock of cedar waxwings. I'll get back to hawk territory tomorrow. Today I needed this change.
