When there's a soppy day I can go back in the files and post skipped images, skipped because they were not news-urgent.

Catbird with berry? Must be a food delivery.

The flicker blends so well with the leaves except for the red marker, sitting target for hawks.

Nice idea, -a little shade.

This was the headshot that made me realize that the grackle posted a few days ago was soaking a sparrow's head.

There was an article in the NY Times about edible plants in the parks- greens, fruit, herbs. The warning was not to eat everything or there would be no park. Tell that to the squirrels.

And in amongst the leaves this squirrel found one kernel of popcorn.
