I had not idea what to expect as I approached the Planetarium. After all, we had had some bitterly cold days. The first difference was the second feeder, red flying saucer style. This was a good sign. Had there been no feeder I would have assumed no Ruffy. A bit of patience paid off. Ruffy is a survivor. The behavior was different, sip at feeder, roost, preen, sip again, rest, preen. In the hour that I watched I didn't see Ruffy sip from the mahonia buds. It was wonderful watching how the tiny body moves.
