Dove Monday

In 2008 the doves nested on the fuse box across the way. Since then there has been no fuse box activity. Until yesterday....

I came back from the market and saw doves on fuse box. Only one twig up there, so maybe there might be a dove nest on the fuse box again. I resumed doing food shopping. an hour later I could see progress.

Back and forth, male kept delivering twigs.  Female did a bit of sorting.

Female doing nothing. Male doing deliveries and sorting.

Finally female stirred herself.

And she flew off.

Next.. doves are checking every window ledge on second floor of opposite building.

Oh no!  They nested on this light fixture last year, bad spot for a nest.

Around the side of the building, another light fixture to be checked out.

More window ledge checking.

They checked every window ledge, 2nd floor, 3rd floor,... all the way up to the 7th floor.  I had work to do and planned to check fuse box in the evening, but the rain intervened.  Next chapter tomorrow. There will be a nest. The question is WHERE?
