Fifteen minutes ago

There's a robins' nest somewhere nearby. Can't find it. The parents fly the shells away from nest. They don't want any obvious sign of their home in case danger flies by.
White throat sparrow likes this patch for seeds.
Suddenly a skittish flicker flew down. They never immediately start pecking in the soil. They check for any danger from above.
The red patch on back of head is like a target for an attacker.
Very careful. Flicker knew I was there. I didn't dare move one inch closer.
So pretty. Flicker in the tulips. It didn't stay long. It flew off and I came back upstairs to download results.
