Lovely sunshine

I'm not sure I'd lie around in the grass sunning myself, but the birds are doing it, -lovely sun, cold air.

A surprise brown thrasher...

There's food where you find it,... pine cones for the upside down nuthatches.......

and the seeds in the dropped sweetgum tree pods.

The goldfinches love the sweetgum seeds.

The peanutbutter mash in the coconut feeders attract a variety of birds. Here the house finches face off. Female wins.

Birders were out today looking for crossbills. They like the nut of the hemlock tree. "Did you see the crossbills?", everyone asked. No. But at least I know what a hemlock tree looks like now. Looks like a pine tree with very small pine cones.
