I read in a bird behavior book that robin are very private, that nobody has observed them mating. Well, guess again. New York robins haven't read the behavior book. The male approach broad daylight- Whooppee! Whooppee! WHOOPPEE!! And then BANG after which they both went off into the bushes while I stood laughing my head off.
Ducks: Oh Lordy. Female mallard resting minding her own business when out of the sky drop two male mallards. Nothing subtle. Grab her head and let her have "it", both of them.
After the 3 minute session female none the worse for wear.
A bit of peace after all that. Peaches by Turtle Pond.
