Elegance

This final selection from yesterday is all Papa Hawk doing the branch/twig selection. It has to be a precise twig. Watching the selection process - the study, the balance, the retrieval, and delivery is nothing short of awe inspiring. An industrial ballet, so glorious.

This is always a huge photo challenge, - finding the right angle while the action is taking place, watching the angle of light, trying to freeze motion, not tripping over branches or round seed pods, and never interfering with the hawk's activities. I think they recognize me, or at least the glass of the lens. I think they sense my love and admiration, because they sure are allowing me the honor of watching their life.
