West 69th street is Gourmet Alley..... lots of bread, chips, scraps. The 69th street population- pigeons, sparrows, starling- all enjoy what's available. This caught my eye. I'd never before seen pigeons eating beans and broccoli.

Bread is more usual and totally consumed in twenty minutes, not one crumb left.

Totally atypical. This robin was watching the cardinal lady feed the small birds. It waited for a pause in activity and found a hidden peanut. They'll eat nut bits, but this was a first, half a kernel intact.

Down the hatch.
