Dove fledgling

Baby dove has left home. Usually they stay in nest tree but higher up or one tree away. I searched every tree and couldn't find the baby. The next step is to wait and listen. Both parents showed up. They're wonderful parents and know they have to feed the baby. I stood still and watched and listened. They called. No answer. They searched every tree. They called some more. They even went back to the nest and searched there. No baby.  I was worried, Anything can happen to a small bird. Finally they heard a reply. Baby dove had flown a good distance over the path and into the next tree area, very different trees. Leaf cover  very high up.  This was great, because I knew the baby would get fed. Baby safe and sound for now. Gutsy little kid. That was a long brave maiden flight.
Meanwhile one robin is on nest while another is plucking mulberries.
Splish splash, two guys in the bath. And all is well in the garden. Hopefully I'll be able to find the baby dove again tomorrow. No guarantees.
