Oh, sometimes one's maternal instincts are stretched to the max. Mama Duck is sitting on a nest. Papa is right there. Only one problem. The raccoons are eating the eggs. I don't know a solution. This is the way it is in nature. Should I keep a 24 hour vigil? Should I do battle with the raccoons? The trouble is I love the raccoons too. This duck couple may just have to learn and move to a safer spot. If they should have a successful clutch and hatching the raccoons would eat the ducklings._____________________________
