Wet day

Oh, it's sloppy out, not a good day for birding. Unless you're a water bird. The egret is such a beautiful study in grace and form.

Mama Robin is still incubating, thank goodness. Yesterday afternoon our idiotic groundskeepers went around trimming branches and hacked off two branches that protected one side of this nest. Now it is totally visible from the path. Still Mama sits, but I won't be surprised if this nest is abandoned. It is too close to the path and too visible. Human disturbance is a big concern. Our groundskeepers are butchers and don't even know what kind of trees they're mutilating. I wish someone would knock off a wall of their homes. Then maybe they'd get it.
