Yesterday was a WOW day. The female redstarts were anything but skittish. They were at my feet foraging for bugs.
The best was the one hummingbird, a 12 second surprise. This is the earliest that I've seen a fall migration hummer. I waited about two hours and saw it fly by again, but no more pictures were possible. It was an open-shade kind of day, drab light till later in the afternoon.
The second WOW of the day, the hummingbird moth. Fantastic. I'd like these colors in my wardrobe.
