Sassy blue jay

Come any closer and you'll be in the lens.
Reason for lack of fear. Not my hand.

Food in sight

Food fight. Not in a sharing mood
Curious nuthatch. Almost too close for focus.
Trustful titmouse.

Seeds?

The regulars are in town finding seeds to eat. The hermit thrush gave me the eye.
Chickadee... wild seeds and handout
Busy with all sorts of work. Not out birding every day till some work eases up.

Perfect blend

Total color blend, grooming while resting. The great horned owl.
I wish I could hand hold a 600mm lens.

Available food

Acorns available. Don't know why I was thinking about food having gorged the day before.
Chestnuts.
Down the hatch to make room for next nut.
Reflection from sunset on Trump Tower window.

The sharpie

The race was on, sharp shinned hawk on the prowl, not easy to photograph, fast swirl overhead.
Finally, a landing, beady-eyed stare.
Great, fast hunter.

Punk Dove

I've seen many handsome mourning doves, usually more skittish than this one.
Into this space came a mod-Dove, probably "henpecked", a vision of loveliness.
And speaking of heads, an immature red-headed woodpecker, no red head yet. It caught a bug. Lunch on the fly. (pun intended)

Autumn cuisine

At first I wasn't sure what I was seeing. Lots of frenzied activity. When I got closer I could make out what was going on. Oh joy, a peanut butter tree. I love the stuff too. Human delivery. Mmmm, good!
Around the corner the white throated sparrow was enjoying organic lunch, seeds.
I prefer peanut butter.
