Watching activity

The cardinal nest is active, but life hard to see.
Definitely kids up the tree, two sizes of tails.

The other nest has a baby, well hidden between tree trunk and parent's body.
It's 7p.m.  I guess this is the look-around hour.

Young sparrow calling for food. This kid knows how to pick by itself. Trying mulberries on its own.

Bit it still does the feed-me-flap.

Other than robins

Fingers crossed that this nest under construction will be the cardinals' new nursery.

Plastic is being interwoven into this nest.

Anyone eating mulberries needs a face wash.

My eyes didn't see the babies in the high-up nest. The doves use this spot each year.

No robins today

Can't find young robins. Times to watch everyone else. Scaffolding with mesh is up,  very hard to get a clear view of anything. Male cardinal obviously watching for bugs from sidewalk.

But now he's behind mesh.
Real fast up in air and down to ground with a big something. Mesh diffusion and low light.
I think he got  a huge moth.
Crunch it, shake it, kill it, eat it.

Dead as dead can be. A cardinal feast for Papa
Meanwhile young starlings feast easily on fallen mulberries.

Fluffed pigeons have had a bath.

Sparrow nest in air vent has collapsed.
Everything is fun to see not just young robins.

Out and about

Hurry, hurry, Mother, dear. Mouths to be fed. left right center, up and down.

The kids are spreading their wings into wider space.
Grocery shopping at the berry tree.

Time for a bath. Hard work trying to feed everyone.

It will get harder to locate all the mouths from now on.
