Every other day

I'm getting downstairs every other day depending on weather. The house sparrows are beautiful. I often wonder if they recognize me. These are males. Also eating the seeds out of new blossoms.

A dove has constructed a new nest on the fuse box, but nobody is in residence. I suspect it's a first time nest, new parents, nest built very fast but they haven't sorted out what to do with it. If they don't use it some other bird will move in. Affordable housing.

The same cast of characters

All fine on the dove nest
Strong healthy male robin worm hunting
You can really see the yellow belly of this sapsucker. There are a pair of them and they're adoring our trees.
Check out the space before drilling.  There are hawks around who would lunch on a woodpecker.
Big puddle out back, good for bathing and drinking.

Quiet downstairs

Totally unprotected nest. Rainy morning. No umbrella.
New seeds in front garden. The cardinals "talk" to each other. Mrs. Cardinal clicks. Mr. Cardinal sings various phrases. I wonder if they recognize me and my huge lens.

Rat tat tat

Yellow belly sapsucker in the back garden. It loves out trees, drill holes in ever tree. The new spots are the green ones.
Off to the west side of the garden. Rows and rows of old drill spots. Sometimes there are bugs under the bark
Resting for a moment.
