Favorite hummer

Not enough time for birding these days, lots of opera work, but every once in a while it's possible to run over to the jewelweed patch.
This won't go on for much longer. Better blossoms further south.

Little and big

Couldn't get closer
a few yards away..... hawk not interested in hummer lunch
Still busy photographing opera. Can't be birding every day.

Sit and stare

Love this. Let's look each other over and chat a bit.
It can take a while. Very calm. Getting acquainted.
Off the next few days for opera coverage and Rosh Hashana. Best wishes to all.

Humming along

We have a whisper conversation. She knows I'm watching through the leaves.
Time to stroll elsewhere.
What would a stroll be without meeting a couple of rats.

Hummers and others

Finally, a fence sitter and a chance to watch interaction, hummer and bee.
Bee survived to buzz another day

We've got apple trees in the garden
Dead cicada on sidewalk. An hour later it was gone. I'll bet a sparrow got it.
Slightly molting grackle stares me down
How to relax in park. Bring inflatable sofa.
Molty blue jay and chestnut
What would a day be without at least one rat. Usually there are at least 30.
