Forty minutes in back garden

The cardinal has food either for mate or babies. Haven't spotted a nest yet.

The young doves are out and about two trees over from nest tree.
Young robin on the hunt for worms.
That's when I spotted movement in the planter, the black and white warbler that does cement better than trees. It worked the whole planter, outside and inside.
This charmer recognizes me, tolerates the camera, doesn't mind the sound of the voice. Totally atypical behavior for a black and white warbler.

The Parula

It helps to have eyes in back of your head. Looking west while something is east. The tiny parula grooming. Good show. Didn't mind the lens. It's such a pretty warbler.

The next morning

The young doves are out and about, skittish.
Both parents are nearby
Back to the fountain just in time to see the scarlet tanager again.
Huge surprise. The chestnut sided warbler came by for two seconds.
