Red and blue

I get watched. Maybe it's the attraction of the lens.  Cardinal collecting food.
Blue jay really interested in what's in my pocket.
We had a bit of a conversation. I shared some nut bits, grabbed to fast to photograph.

Into the park for an hour..... white throated sparrow
Male house sparrow collecting nesting material
Chipping sparrow, smaller than the others
Robin anting, getting wing feathers cleaned... so peaceful.

Quiet out back, drizzling on and off.Mama dove at her nest.
Mama robin in her nest, one of several active nests downstairs.
Cardinal checking me out and eating blossom seeds.
Pigeon looking for hootchy-kootchy
Female totally uninterested
No action. Better luck next time, Birdy.

Busy robins

Observing  male robin  obviously collecting nesting material.
And above in magnolia tree robin is testing location for possible use, cozy, but maybe not well enough protected.
Meanwhile in another tree incubation has begun.  I've found 6 active robin nests downstairs. Enough worms for all.

Through the window

The sparrow appeared to be getting microscopic food off the window. It didn't see me watching from the other side of the glass.
Meanwhile our resident scamp has discovered the bird feeders.

The doves, end responsibility

The kids explored the balcony.  No feeding session. I suspect kids are now on their own.
Adults now peacefully preening on lamp post.

There is a new nest, incubation, high up in nearby tree. Doves can have as many as 6 broods per season.
