Growing up

I love the play of the early morning light on the robin family activity.
Even at this young age they understand anting.
On the ground snack.
Wait!   What is this kid doing on the lamp fixture?
Oh jeez,  instead of joining plucking Papa in the mulberry tree this kid waits for personal delivery with no effort on its part.
Studying potential food. What is food?  Grass?

Some can't, some can

There are mixed families in this space, different levels of maturity, some babies dependent, others finding their own way.

Back in the garden

The sparrow found our water fountain, took a bath, then picked the curb to dry out on.
The whole garden is a learning space for the young robins. Everything has to be examined.
Maybe they perceive me as Robin Mama.
Checking everything as a possible edible.

A little variety

Into the park on a sunny Saturday.. preening, sunbathing...
The demanding baby cardinal could be heard for a good city block. Mama kept very busy.
And not to be ignored... resident rat.
