A touch of red

Very cautiously Mrs. Cardinal arrived on the window ledge above the fountain and checked out safety.
All clear. Into the water. Bath time.
                                          So beautiful. Balletic.

Hot is hot

If it's hot there are two things to do... spread out, it's called anting,  and breathe through mouth. That's how birds aerate their bodies.
Male robin has broken top beak. This is Picasso, looking weirder than ever.
Not dead or sick, just anting in the heat
There's a cluster of starlings in this space. Can't stop watching them. They're better than Disney Presents.

New baby dove, post #4

Final post.  Gentle feeding.
No more?   Notice seed on baby's beak. It's been fed seed mush.
A bit of preening, face cleaning.
I'm being checked and then off Papa flew right over my head
              Baby contented to stay put.
