Special visitor, the scarlet tanager

Little fountain out front, 8:45am.  One never knows who will fly in. The male scarlet tanager arrived, took my breath away. They are cautious, always look around to make sure an area is safe. The tanager is smaller than a robin and hugely personable. This one has obviously been eating seeds, mush face.
I'm being sized up. Am I safe? What's that big hunk glass? An eye?
If tanager felt threatened he would have flown off and not sipped the water.
Time to bathe. It's a safe place.
Clean face.
The tanager may stick around for a day or two.
