Delicious

It's New York. If food is dropped it will be enjoyed. It's the urban way.
Wait a minute! Is that an antenna on the sparrow nest?? Urban necessity?

Summer sights

Heard the singing. Male finch downstairs, often hidden in leaves.
Fountain relief, sharing not always welcome, male vs female.
Very young sparrows now self-sufficient. Chips, not exactly most healthful food.
Absolutely not food. Live and learn.

Getting there

Strolling, waiting for migrating birds..... instead resident curious catbird.
Leaf chomping sparrow
Young blue jay
Finally somebody different, the water thrush. There were two of them, very vocal, facing off, hard to shoot together.

The grackle and the pigeon

Young grackle. They'll eat anything.
They understand water in the hot weather. Feels good.
Gorgeous adult grackle.
Not all pigeons are simple grey. This one was game for a conversation.

Summer mixture

There's stil an active robin's nest in garden, a triplex, been used three times, not always successfully.
Territorial. Get out of my space!
A youngster has discovered the water, fluff ball.
And then for a bit of anting.
Lazing around. There are babies down that tree.
Camera shy.
