The dove hatchlings are now formidable personalities. This is a crowded, poopy space.
There's another dove nest in a tree they've used before, the same tree the blue jays usurped last year. Limited viewing.
Grooming time. This is instinctive. A bird can't clean its own face or head.
Robins nearby. They also have nest sites in mind.

Bluejay
Bluejay was doing a good imitation of a woodpecker. Obviously goodies under the bark. I couldn't get closer.

Friday lunch time
Lunch time, intimate. The hatchlings suck the parents dry.
I can't tell if this is a second hatchling. Parent very protective.
Doves also in back garden, hunkered down in leaves.

The fuse box
Good old fuse box, dove favorite location,Affordable housing. I've been watching for a couple of week. During frigid days nothing obvious happening.
Today it's warmer. Baby feathers under the parent. Someone has hatched. You can see one baby eye.
Wow! This is not a brand new hatchling. There could even be two hatchlings up there.
I'll be watching every day. It's fun time.

Nibble nibble
Never noticed this robin's nest during nesting season. It was hidden in the leaves.. The robins will use any found materials for their nest support, this time a plastic bag. In 2020 it was covid masks.
Nibble nibble, berries and seed bits. Strong male robin will probably over-winter here.
The sparrows find seed bits in leaves and on the ground when blown off the leaves.
Yummy suet, starling treat.
It was a weak year for sunflowers. Excess rain probably killed them off.
