Lunchtime

 The kids are hanging out on the ground under the nest. The parent can find them easily. They run to her for feeding frenzy time.

That's it for now. "Cafeteria" closed until later.

Fledglings

 

When I went to the post office the kids were still in the nest. Fifteen minutes later- empty nest.

They never go far at first. Check branches nearby, check under bushes across the path, check area under nest.  Under nest and  not alone.  Parent in attendance.

Everyone looks healthy. They obviously fluttered down fro the nest and survived.   I'll check later on to see how they're doing. They will still need to be fed by parents.

Big babies

The babies have got to exercise their wings. They're almost fledge ready.
 

Oh, now mama is getting into the act.

What's next? Leave home?  But it's a cold windy day.

They sat down again and I decided to go back upstairs to warm up and have some lunch.

Dining in

There 's nothing calm about dining time/. The kids suck their parents dry.
 

With luck you can see the "changing of the guard",both parents in nest with nestlings.  When the parent arrives it means more food.
