Babies

Food deliveries to the cardinal household.
 

Nestlings are now big enough to do a head count.

Parents are well aware of the camera.

Mulberry delivery. Sometimes Papa gives food to Mama and she feeds the babies.

Definitely three babies.  Three little open mouths.

 These are from the 5th. I've been downstairs in the smoke. Everyone is thriving.  Sometimes Mama dove arrives and doesn't enter the nest. The kids will be fed less frequently now. They'll learn to think about the outside world.

You can see baby mouths in some of these images. Mama always checks me out.

Fingers crossed that everyone will continue to thrive.

You can see one tiny waiting mouth in the center. It's  very hard to see what's going on.

Dove babies growing, no longer green

Lunch has arrived, the father.

The mulberry tree is in fruit, ripe berries dropping. Birds up in tree, doves and pigeons on ground.

The juice and seeds are a vital part of the dove diet. Body will process and babes will be fed.
