Dining on high

The day begins downstairs, but by the end of the day mealtime has gone upstairs.
 

They're nearing independence.

I suspect that from now on it will be hard to find the fledglings.

Meanwhile there's a yelling grackle in the back garden.

Semi independent

On the ground under nest site waiting for food delvery.

When this happens the best I can do is point lens and keep shooting, because it's frantic and very funny
 

Four heads? Mama , Papa and two kids.

Wait a minute!  What's going on up there?? Abandoned nest being checked out for future occupancy??

Big kids. Pretty soon they'll go off on their own.

A little personal attention

 Now that the kids are out of the nest the parents have some time for themselves,  personal grooming.  This is so gentle and beautiful to watch. Sometimes this is followed by mating, but not on this day.

Lunchtime

 The kids are hanging out on the ground under the nest. The parent can find them easily. They run to her for feeding frenzy time.
