Pick up sticks, etc.

The hawks have been all around the ground collecting building material for their nest. There's so much available. They scan a space, stare, then pick that one "needle" in the haystack, check the air above for any potential threat and fly the material home. Each piece is woven into framework. They're too busy to be bothered by anything as mundane as a squirrel.
