In the garden

The goal was to get to the park, but there was so much going on in the garden that I got no further than downstairs. The small dead bird has been by the tree for a few days, in total rigor, deteriorated.  A dead brown creeper. No clue what happened. It may have been attacked by a sapsucker. The sapsuckers are very protective of their turf.  I've been watching one chase away chickadees.
What good is a garden without an octopus.
And blow my mind!  Another cigarette butt loving chickadee. They're eating the tobacco.  So far no coughing observed.  This was hard to document... high branch and scaffolding in the way.
Beauty in death, ... hydrangea blossom.
