| Pretty visitor, the European goldfinch, male. How did it get here? Escapee? Perhaps. From where? The best I heard was that it escaped from Petco. ( They sell European goldfinches.) Other overheard : "Pretty bird. He'd be much prettier if he was duck-size." "I've seen 20 life birds at Petco." Whatever- this is one gorgeous little bird, domineering, watched him face-off against other birds. |
