Cicada heaven

I had gone downstairs to photograph the arum berries. Suddenly there was movement past my face, a cicada flew in and landed on the tree in the planter. Right place. Right time. Right equipment. I'd never before seen a live cicada. I got out  the close-up filter and climbed into the planter in order to get as close as possible. What an exquisite creature. Slow moving. Fascinating. Plique a jour wings seen in art nouveau jewelry. I'll post more pictures tomorrow. I don't know if I'll ever see a live cicada again. I usually see them being eaten by birds.
These are the pretty arum berries and the weird fungus which morphs every day.
