Into the window

The doorman called me, "Come quick. Bird in trouble on sidewalk."  I got dressed in 30 seconds, grabbed my gear... camera, laytex gloves, paper towels, plastic bags, ran out door and forgot my keys.  Oh, poor baby, a female scarlet tanager, small bird, smaller than a robin. Most likely it flew into a window and concussed itself. I put on gloves and gently placed it under bushes away from path.  No flies hovering, so I knew this bird was still alive.  Every once in a while it nodded its head and opened its eyes.
I had to take care of some business. When I got back three hours later the bird was no longer there. Great!  Lots of bugs in our garden and running water.  Recovered and on its way.
