The kestrel, Part I

Late yesterday afternoon I went down to the back garden to check up on the dove fledglings. I heard something screaming from a balcony, knew that voice, followed the sound and found the screamer on the 6th floor balcony, a gorgeous kestrel. I have no idea what the screaming was all about. It went on for about 40 minutes before the kestrel flew off. A kestrel is a little bigger than a robin, - small dainty and a killer when it comes to catching food. After it flew off I checked on the doves. All safe and sound with them, one under the bushes with parent watching, the other roaming around the other end of the garden, kind of inept when it comes to using wings.
