A fine show

While I've still got some 2010 leftovers to post I'll blend them in with the new images. The small birds know when danger is lurking. They immediately flee into the brush for cover. But yesterday they knew that the hawk was no danger. The hawk had its own food, no danger.

There's a lot of food in a squirrel, but it's a real hassle getting to the good stuff.

The hawks are such neat eaters. They get the fur (or feathers) out of the way, then pull out the bit of meat they want. Every once in a while they pause, rest. They don't gorge. When I sloshed off there was still lots of meat to this squirrel. (There will be more pictures.)
