The morning began with a stunner, one cicada killer wasp, amazing "machine", better than something from outer space. After that it was a sweet, maternal couple of hours watching baby sparrows peck at seeds. They all still had their yellow gape and for the most part had attentive parents nearby, but they knew how to pick and peck. Of course, there are other birds who are opportunistic moochers.
